Will Artificial Intelligence
take our jobs & our future?
Artificial Intelligence and other technologies do not need to be perfect, they just need to be better, more efficient, or cost less than a human in the same role.
AI has the potential to eventually dominate many traditional human jobs. So what can we do now? And how do we prepare?
It is important that we understand and address the ethical, legal and societal implications of artificial intelligence and ensure that that they behave according to the formal and informal norms to which we hold our fellow humans.
We also need to consider the positive and negatives of AI taking our jobs, so that we can make more informed decisions now.

- The percentage of US workers employed in agriculture has declined from 41% in 1900 to 2% in 2000.

The advantages of ai taking human jobs |
AI could help advance many industries which could lead to breakthroughs in many fields such as medicine.
AI such as technology like IBM Watson may take over many jobs in the medical field but it will;
AI such as technology like IBM Watson may take over many jobs in the medical field but it will;
- be able to provide potentially quicker and more accurate diagnosis
- compare data from a patients previous medications and illnesses to link symptoms and potentially form a better diagnosis
- analysis the countless amount of new data released into the field each day and update patient profiles accordingly
- find patterns across patients and their symptoms and make links across the world that doctors would never be able to make
the Disadvantages of ai taking human jobs
Obvious issues of concern;
Also, how do we program these technologies to do the right thing or do what a human would do?
- Taking of a very significant number of human jobs
- How does an economy keep running if citizens don't have any money to spend?
- Will it throw millions of citizens into poverty?
- The methods of preparing society for AI are very costly, time consuming and need to planned and implemented right now, to align with AI taking jobs.
Also, how do we program these technologies to do the right thing or do what a human would do?
- We need to figure out a way to instill human values in the machines
- Companies wanting to take on AI instead of having human workers need to consider the morals and values that the machines will have to ensure that they align with the companies morals and values
We want to build systems that are open enough and transparent enough, that human judgement, imagination and creativity are still active.

my suggestions for the future
Historically, society has managed to absorb new technologies and progress with normal living and living conditions pretty well. But are we facing a time where it may be harder for this to happen?
I think that the we need to be considering implactions of the results of employing this technology now to ensure that plans and options are ready to go for when the day comes.
In my opinion there are two ideas that seem the most realistic;
Collaboration
Universal Basic Income
What do I think?
After research and analysis of the topic, I firmly believe that society will and should use a mixture of both collaboration and the idea of a Universal Basic Income, to combat the issue of AI taking many jobs.

In my opinion there are two ideas that seem the most realistic;
- Collaboration - of humans and machines
- Adopting the idea of a Universal Basic Income
Collaboration
- Would allow many workers to keep their jobs
- Would mean that the machines are controlled by someone with morals and values aligning with the company and society, in most cases
- Would make the machines more efficient at its jobs because a human is doing the tasks it cannot perform
Universal Basic Income
- Will allow for more creativity adn innovation in society as citizens are not working for money necessarily
- Citizens will not be as stressed or tired potentially which will allow them to focus on their families and communities and things that matter to them
- Keeps the economy turning
